Portugal: Porto, Duoro, Lisbon, Evora, Algarve

The Primary Tour Itinerary Includes:

Day 1

Arrive Porto and check into Pestana Vintage Hotel

6:30 pm Welcome reception at the hotel followed by dinner at Vinhas d’Alho at 7:30 pm

Day 2

10:00 am Our private “tuk-tuks” will pick us up for a 2 hour guided tour of Porto

Free afternoon to explore Porto, optional river boat cruise, visit “WOW” (World of Wine) in Vila Nova de Gaia, several museums, restaurants, wine tastings, etc

Dinner this evening will be on your own

Day 3

10:00 am Private river cruise aboard a classic boat for a view of Porto from the water

12:00 pm After our boat tour, you will be free to explore on your own

4:00 pm Cellar tour and Porto tasting at Graham’s House of Port in Vila Nova de Gaia

7:00 pm Dinner at Vinum Restaurant

Day 4

10:00 am Depart for Duoro valley

12:00 pm Private boat tour on the Duoro river with lunch and wine

3:00 pm Check into hotel Quinta do Pego

5:00 pm Wine and port tasting followed by dinner at our hotel

Day 5

10:30 am Wine tastings at a few Duoro valley wineries including a 3 course lunch with wines of the estate

2:30 pm Return to Quinta do Pego to relax by the pool, siesta, etc

7:00 pm Dinner at our hotel

Day 6

9:30 am Depart Quinta do Pego for the charming medieval village of Obidos. Time to explore, have lunch, walk on the ancient wall surrounding the village, etc

3:00 pm Check into Portobay Marques hotel in Lisbon

7:30 pm Dinner at a nearby restaurant

Day 7

10:00 am Walking tour of Lisbon with local guide Vanessa

This afternoon and evening you will be free to explore Lisbon on your own

Day 8

9:00 am Depart Lisbon to visit the royal Palace of Queluz and its spectacular gardens. Afterward we head to Sintra where you will have free time to explore the historical center

12:30 pm Drive along the coast to Cascais for lunch at a typical Portuguese restaurant, A Tasca da Vila

6:00 pm Afternoon cooking class in Lisbon followed by dinner that we will prepare!

‍Day 9

10:00 am Depart for Evora

12:30 pm Lunch at a Bruxa de Evora

1:30 pm Our local guide will meet us at the restaurant to begin our walking tour of this UNESCO world heritage city

3:30 pm Check into Moura Suites hotel

7:30 pm You will be free for dinner this evening

‍Day 10

11:00 am Depart for a cork and wine tour at Tapada Coelheiros farm where we will have a guided tour of the cork forest, vineyards, etc followed by lunch served with estate wines

Dinner will be on your own this evening

‍Day 11

10:00 am Depart for Alvor with a stop in Sagres to visit the 15th century fortress at Europe’s most southwestern point once considered to be “the end of the world”

3:00 pm Check into Alvor Praia resort

7:30 pm Group dinner near the resort

‍Day 12

10:00 am Private boat ride aboard a traditional wooden boat to visit the sea caves, options for swimming, kayaking, etc

Free time this afternoon to relax

On your own this evening for dinner

‍Day 13

Free day: optional winery visits outside of Alvor or option to visit Castillo de Silves or the charming town of Lagos

7:00 pm Final dinner in Portugal at Canico restaurant

‍Day 14

Tour ends after breakfast, independent departures to your next destinations.
