A Taste of Tuscany: Hilltowns, Food & Wine

Day 1

-  Independent arrivals and transfers to our private villa.

-  Welcome reception and dinner.

 

Day 2

-  After breakfast we will be escorted by sommelier and wine guide, Giorgio, to several Tuscan wineries for tastings and cellar tours.

-  We will enjoy lunch at one of these wineries accompanied by wines of the estate.

-  Our next stop today is San Gimignano, a quintessential Tuscan Hill Town. With 11 of its original towers and medieval buildings it is not just picturesque, but a great place for shopping… ceramics, leather goods, linens, olive wood items PLUS award winning gelato shops!

-  Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 3

-  This morning we will join Donatella for a guided walking tour of Siena, beautiful medieval city.

-  After our tour we will befree for lunch and shopping.

-  We will join Chef Serena and her Mamma for a cooking class and dinner at the villa.

 

Day 4

-  After a leisurely breakfast we will drive to a family-owned farm, an impressive organic producer of exquisite wines and artisanal cheeses that are coveted by the best restaurants and cheese stores in Florence and Rome, where we will enjoy an al fresco lunch.

-  Tonight, dinner will be at a traditional Trattoria nearby.

 

Day 5

-  Florence will be our destination for the day and into the evening. We will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city including the Accademia Museum to see the David. Afterwards we will be free to explore additional galleries, palaces, and exhibits, shopping and lunch.

-  This evening we will enjoy dinner in Florence or at a restaurant on our way back to our villa.

Day 6

-  We depart for Volterra this morning and an extremely informational guided visit of this historical Etruscan hill town.

-  After our tour we will head toward the coast where we will visit an olive oil farm and mill for an explanation, tour, olive oil tasting and lunch at their farm to table restaurant.

-  Free for dinner this evening.

Day 7

-  This morning we will have a cooking class at Antinori’s teaching kitchen with Chef Matia followed by a tour of the historic Antinori Cellars, below the ancient Abby at Passignano and afterwards a tasting of their wines.

-  Lunch, accompanied by Antinori wines will be served at one of their outstanding restaurants.

-  Our final dinner this evening will be prepared by the chef at our villa.

 

Day 8
